Earth Day Support

 

Happy Earth Day– one of my favorite days of the year.  Celebrating the earth and supporting it feels like one of the most important spiritual tasks of our lifetime to me. Part of realizing this comes through first experiencing the wonder and beauty of nature. 

My most vivid memories as a little girl involve nature. 

Chasing bumblebees and butterflies, collecting rocks and stones, making blush from ground up bricks in the back of my schoolyard, spending time at my grandfather’s lake and swimming there.  

If ever I was having a hard day at home, I would pop on my rollerblades, and go cruising around the neighborhood.  And as soon as I looked at the sky, I would feel peace and space around everything.  

Nature heals.  It supports.  

This is why I work with it in my practice– the flowers and stones, the water, and the elements.  

I wonder if you knew you could even find planet earth in your natal...

Kicking Colds Quickly

I had a funny feeling while I was assisting a retreat for a friend recently that I just might catch a cold from one of her participants. I was seated next to a woman whose sinuses were so clogged up, they sounded like a freight train each time she inhaled.  I tried to keep my vibe up as I had a busy weekend ahead.  But by the time Monday hit, I felt a sore throat coming on. (of course I tested for Covid, and thankfully it wasn’t that.)

At the same time, which never happens, my assistant had caught a cold.  I was chuckling that we were making a great team that week, both being under the weather. 

My assistant asked me one of the days we were both unwell what remedies I was using to get better, as she loves to know what other people do.  That one question catalyzed a whole blog post in my head because I realized I don’t really share with others out loud what I do.

A Morning Routine for Uncertain Times

Do you have a morning routine? Check out what our founder Grace Harrington-Murdoch had to share about her morning routine.

I have been thinking of you all a lot and myself too, during the uncertainty of these times. 

For a moment this summer, it certainly felt like there was some serious momentum forward and then we got the news of delta… but even so, something did not really change. 

And that something is: we still have to take supreme care of ourselves.

And also, we never really could predict what was next moment to moment (except a little bit astrologically of course.) 

When the pandemic hit, my gut instinct was to go even deeper into my spiritual practices as well as my health routine, versus further away from it. And as things started to lighten up I drifted a little. But recently I re-committed to my practices and am taking it all several steps deeper.
